The problem is not the price, it is the calendar

Fibre costs the same in the months you are there as in the months you are not. In a house used three months a year, nine euros in every twelve pay for a connection nobody switches on. And cancelling and reconnecting every season costs money in activation fees, in waiting, and in engineer visits you have to be at home to receive.

Many people want the connection live all year for another reason: the alarm, the cameras, the thermostat, or being able to let someone in to water the garden. That uses little data and buys a lot of peace of mind, and it changes the sums: if the connection has to stay alive twelve months, you need a plan that survives twelve months.

What does not change

WiFi Calling depends on there being power, internet, and an operator that has it enabled. For emergency calls, a phone with street coverage remains the safe option, here and in any house.
